Two police officers are twin brothers, but only described the different forms of his mustache only. Both these figures are described by Herge as police that very careless and stupid, so often become a problem instead of solve the problem. Besides that, the two figures is portrayed often repeat each other the words of the sentence only behind-the back and just like the word "more precisely" (to be precise .....).With their ignorance, The Adventures of Tintin become a full laughter by see their behavior that is described so clearly by Herge as idiot detectives. Herge depicts two figures with a black dress coat, hat Bowler and equipped with a stick.
Similar but not identical and the differences located only on the shape their both mustache where Thompson has a form of a straight mustache while Thomson's mustache was warped out more. Thomson & Thompson character is taken by Herge's own father and uncle that is also the identical twin brother, and always wearing a hat Bowler. In the French version of this comic, the two leaders is called Dupont et Dupond.
